HarMA HUB

A case study in creativity

Dedicated to promoting cross-border collaboration in the field of music theory, it’s only natural that the HarMA Hub project wanted a website that harmonised the artistic with the practical.

Making Harmony happen

As the creative and technical team behind the HarMA+ project, a precursor to HarMA Hub, when the opportunity to conduct a new project came up, it was only fitting that the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles once again turned to karma.agency.

Whereas the original project involved creating a new brand identity, colour palette, and WordPress-based website, the new brief wanted something a bit more ‘outside the box’.

Not only did we go outside the box, we went outside the planet – delivering a virtual cosmic universe.

Created by the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles and in collaboration with musical organisations from across Europe, the HarMA Hub project promotes cross-border collaboration in the field of music theory through sharing knowledge and transferring pedagogical innovation.

From Expectations to Specifications !

Working in close collaboration with the client, we started by evaluating the HarMA+ website, identifying its strengths and weaknesses.

We also conducted extensive discussions with the client, a process that let us better understand their needs. Based on these conversations, we helped the client outline the new HarMA Hub project’s parameters, from which they were able to respond to a call for proposals – which they ultimately won.

Your Partner in Creativity

Having translated the client’s expectations into technical specifications and wireframes, it was time to design.

As the main goal of the new web platform was to seamlessly present the HarMA project as a whole, we paid particular attention to how the site’s various components could be better connected.

Our web designer visualised the client’s desire for interconnection as a constellation of stars, using an interstellar motif as a means of creatively connecting the site’s components.

The result is the HarMA Hub, a cosmic universe for a highly functional and easy to navigate website.

For us, there’s no better compliment than repeat business, and it was a pleasure to once again collaborate with the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.

Knowing the project, their work and their expectations gave us the confidence to deliver a site that defies expectations – which is exactly what the client expects from karma.agency!
