The European Cancer Organisation (ECO) aims to reduce the burden of cancer and improve outcomes and the quality of care for cancer patients.

From Data to Decision

The European Cancer Pulse is a tool that puts the spotlight on inequalities throughout the cancer pathway, highlighting gaps in research and flagging areas where policymakers need to act.

Together with our tech partners, the karma.agency built the tool and, later, updated it to include even more data and a range of new functions. The new version allows users to easily track inequalities and monitor progress in cancer care across Europe – making it a go-to-source of information not only for the general public, but for researchers and policy makers too.

Data Made Easy

What really makes this tool shine is its innovative User Interface.

Knowing that data is nothing but numbers if not properly packaged, we designed the European Cancer Pulse to be both easy to use and easy to understand.

This starts with an intuitive navigation, where users can select countries and topics of interest via a clear drop-down menu. They can also find country-specific information by simply clicking on the map.

All data is then presented in a visually appealing way. For instance, a colour coded map lets users quickly see disparities between different countries, while our interactive charts and graphs present the data in a simplified, user-friendly format.

The tool also includes options to dive deeper into the details or to download the data for further use.

We Do Branding and Marketing Too!

Beyond the tool itself, the karma.agency was also charged with promoting it.

For this, our graphic designers developed a unique visual identity, while our creative team got to work on how to best share the European Cancer Pulse story.

The outcome of this work is a range of branding and marketing solutions that includes everything from a logo to promotional flyers, a social media campaign, country- and topic-specific reports, a dedicated web landing page and a series of informational YouTube videos.

A Fulfilling Project with a Positive Impact

Having our finger on the pulse of creative communication, the karma.agency was able to leverage the full-breadth of our experience and know-how to help take the European Cancer Pulse to the next level.

But more than a creative project, this was also a fulfilling project.

Whether directly or indirectly, all our lives are somehow touched by cancer. Having an opportunity to contribute to cancer research and treatment – even in just a small way – made this work all the more important.
